Long Knot Full Length Dress

at browns
This oyster Alexander McQueen long knot full length dress harks back to Hollywood's Golden Age, an era when Lauren Bacall and Marlene Dietrich were the ones setting the trends and teaching us a thing or two about after dark dressing. For Pre-Fall 16, Sarah Burton was inspired by 40s glamour and a woman's possessions and treasures, and in return crafted this full length dress complete with long sleeves, a top knot detail, full length draped skirt and round neckline with a front slit. Elegant and timeless, we're coupling our Alexander McQueen dress with a black clutch for the next dining car date with a certain secret agent. Oyster long knot full length dress. Round neck with keyhole fastening. Long sleeves. Top knot detail. Front slit. Lateral concealed zip fastening. Full length draped skirt. Silk lining.

Alexander McQueen Dresses

Sarah Burton took over the creative helm at Alexander McQueen in 2010. Since then the designer has propelled the rebellious British brand to new heights, adding a softer, more feminine edge to its typically subversive collections. Gothic, romantic and with an air of other worldly etherealness, each piece is made with same considered construction as couture, making it a sure-fire sartorial investment. Signature touches like the hourglass silhouettes, graphic placement prints and the label’s synonymous skulls set each collection apart. Look for these details on breezy floor-skimming chiffon gowns, intarsia body-con minis and the intricately embellished cocktail dresses that walk straight off the runway. And when it comes to dressing, you’re in especially expert hands – Burton designed one of the most talked about pieces of the last decade: the Duchess of Cambridge’s bridal gown.
