What To Wear To Ibiza’s Opening Parties
Posted by StylokoRight, that’s it. We give up. No more wearing a sleeveless sundress underneath a cardigan, and a raincoat and a scarf just in case it rains, or the sun shines, or the temperature dramatically drops to sub-zero degrees. We’re sick to death of this incessant wardrobe malfunction. So we’re off to Ibiza (well, we’re thinking about it anyway).
With the opening parties just a little over a week away (great music and good weather guaranteed), we couldn’t resist getting a little bit – ok, a lot – excited for those actually jetting off to the festivities. We also know that packing for Ibiza isn’t the easiest of tasks – how on earth do you do ‘relaxed glamour’ in 30 degrees? – so we’re lending a helping hand to those who haven’t quite got haute island style figured out yet.
If you’re planning to party the night away (let’s face it, who isn’t), go short. It’ll be hot, it’ll be sticky, and most importantly, it’ll be almost impossible to show off your best moves in a maxi. Printed playsuits, soft flowing skirts in this season’s tribal-inspired patterns and cotton/silk mix dresses in bright colours will be your best friends.
A statement swimsuit can also double up as a bodysuit that gives you an advantage of being able to jump into a pool at any time, so it’s well worth investing in a suitably striking one-piece to go with a cute pair of shorts.
Add a bit of sparkle via a pair of sequined shorts or an embellished jacket to elevate relaxed cool to casual glamour. Comfy footwear is a must, too, so opt for metallic gladiator flats or, if added height is a necessity, a pair of killer wedges (we’re in love with Charlotte Olympia’s raffia version with the pom poms).
Top it all off with a splash of neon, like a belt or a smattering of jewellery – not only will you be sporting one of summer’s biggest trends, your friends will also be able to spot you in a crowd.
Feeling inspired yet? Take a look at our Ibiza Style Scrapbook and get packing. Seriously, we’re this close to booking our flights. See you there!
