What to Pack for a Beach Break

We don’t know about you, but we for one have long been planning our summer holiday to… well, anywhere with plenty of sun, sand and crystal clear sea waters (we’re not too fussed, really). If, like us, you’re getting fed up with the frequent showers and increasingly sporadic sunshine here in the City, we suggest you do the same. NB: Unfortunately we can’t help with the travel planning, but we can make packing a little easier.

Before throwing in any old swimming cossie and a random pair of shorts into your suitcase, we suggest that you carefully consider your beach destination. Because whether you’ll be partying it up in Ibiza, chilling out in cool Cali, or soaking up the (more sophisticated) rays in the South of France will determine what you’ll want to wear.

If you’re heading off to a party destination, go casual – bright colours, bikinis, and acid washed denim cut-offs a la Rihanna shouldn’t fail. If you’re thinking of somewhere a little more low-key with a young Boho crowd, playsuits, a panama and a pair of retro shades make an effortlessly cool combo. And, if you’re planning a more glamorous rendezvous down by the French Riviera, channelling the Kate-Moss-in-St-Tropez look – lots of white, a statement one-piece, K. Jacques gladiators and killer jewellery – is sure to guarantee you a table at Club 55.
