The New Season Accessories Edit: AW12
Posted by StylokoWell, we hope you’ve been paying attention to our new season shoe and bag guides, because now’s the time to put the cherry on top of that autumn/winter cake we’ve been baking. Yep, you guessed it – here’s our pick of this season’s best accessories.
Glamour, glitter and opulence are key words when it comes to accessories this winter. So for jewellery, think bold, plenty of gold, and add a hint of Deco or baroque – the eras of pure indulgence that ruled the runways last February. Anything that sparkles is also guaranteed to go down a treat – it really doesn’t matter whether an oversized, colourful stone or a cluster of smaller crystals is more your thing.
It’s also an idea to start looking for that perfect printed cashmere scarf, which will add an effortless spin to any simple ensemble, as well as keeping out the cold a treat. And while a felt fedora or wool trilby could be just the ticket for style-conscious city dwellers, beanies have never been so chic as this winter’s offerings – see Lanvin’s cute knitted wool hat adorned with grosgrain ribbon.
As for leather – yes, there’s more! – a statement belt is always useful for cinching in those waists when donning a chunky knit, while a plain band with a bejewelled buckle work great over coats. To finish, add extra long gloves for that goth dominatrix effect that’s taking fashion by storm, or pair with a sleeveless dress for a modern Holly Golightly-esque outcome. Perfect!
