Prepare For The World’s First Free-Fall Fashion Shoot Tonight!

Posted by Styloko

So, we’re kinda excited right now.  Remember when our editor flew out to Arizona to witness the launch of HTC’s latest campaign – a world-first free-fall fashion shoot captured on a mobile phone? The ad launches tonight!

We’ve been waiting with baited breath to see the final results of everything we caught a sneak peek at last month, so let’s refresh your memory with what you’re about to witness.

Led by super-cool London ad agency, Mother, HTC’s celebrating the launch of its latest smartphone series, One, by putting the phone where its function is, so to speak.  And what better way to prove its power than by testing it in the toughest possible setting: 12,000 ft in the air.

Here’s how it works: Roberta Mancino, professional model and sky diving champion (best profession ever?), jumps out of a plane at 12,000 ft over the Arizona desert, followed by  skydiving cinematographer Norman Kent, a team of lighting and smoke-effect guys, and amateur photographer Nick Jojoba, who has the challenge of capturing the perfect shot on an HTC handset while falling at 126mph. By the way, he’s never done a skydive before.

It’s as crazy and cool as it sounds – and the outfit, created by Spiderman costume designer Martin Izquierdo and styled by LA Times stylist Hayley Atkin, is even better (all we’re saying is Black Swan, eat your heart out).

We’ll be bringing you all the inside scoop on the fashion, beauty, and creative direction tomorrow, but in the meantime, we suggest you grab a super-sized bucket of popcorn and stay glued to your TV screens tonight – it’s going to be special.
