Pop Stars: The New Arty Prints To Play With

Posted by Styloko

The crossover between art and fashion isn’t exactly a new concept – every season guarantees at least some level of art-inspired pieces from our fave designers – but it all gets so much better when these takes are as fun and witty as they are pretty, non?

Indeed. So needless to say we’re particularly enthralled with the new season’s offerings, where a handful of designers turned playful Pop Art prints into must-have fashion pieces.

Phillip Lim and Markus Lupfer are to blame for our new-found obsession with all things Roy Lichtenstein-esque and comic booky – naturally, Lim’s humorously named ‘Break-Up’ jumpers and clutches are already top of our list – while Nicholas Ghesquiere at Balenciaga gave us a glimpse of unexpected genius with his futuristic reinterpretation of vintage Star Wars posters.

And glam dressers, don’t despair – Matisse and Picasso get their spotlight via Tata Naka’s Fauvism-inspired collection, and Rochas’ homage to murals delivered the most richly textured pieces in seductively decadent gold.
