Giorgio Armani’s Custom Designs For Lady Gaga’s Asian Tour

When it comes to Lady Gaga and fashion, our expectations are high. And aside from a few unforgivable faux pas (ahem, the meat dress), we have to admit that we’re always looking forward to seeing what she’s going pull out of the closet next.

So, when we heard that Giorgio Armani’s designed four looks for her Born This Way Ball tour in Asia, we couldn’t wait to share them with you. As avid Gaga fans will know, this isn’t the first time Mr. Armani’s collaborated with the popstar – he designed a series of outfits for her to wear at the 2010 Grammys and for her Monster Ball tour the same year – so we’re pretty confident he’s got her taste down to a tee.

“Collaborating with Lady Gaga is always an exciting experience for me. I admire the way she uses fashion as a scenic element and as a means to build a character… creating stage costumes for her is a stimulating and creative excercise,” says Armani.

Expect extreme silhouettes, futuristic detailing, latex, metal studs, lots of PVC and a few surprises – one being the luminous PVC elements that create flashes of synthetic light inside items.

Our favourite has to be the black bodice adorned with a Cubist composition of abstract-looking guitars in transparent plexiglas, crystals and studs, complete with a keyboard-shaped headpiece, obvs.

Now that’s a reason to go to Asia!

The Born This Way Ball Tour kicks off in Seoul on April 27 and will then travel to Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore, followed by performances in Australia and New Zealand.
