French Vogue’s Got A New Look!Posted by Styloko
They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but for this particular purpose, we just might have to, as this month sees the launch of a new look Vogue Paris. As it stands, we’ve only caught a sneak preview of the cover until the magazine officially goes on sale later this month, but from what we can see, we’re quite happy to bet it’s going to be nothing short of fantastique!
A result of Emmanuelle Alt (who took over as Editor-in-Chief 18 months ago) and Condé Nast France president Xavier Romatet’s mission to reaffirm the magazine’s point of view with a chicer, timeless and altogether more ‘Parisienne’ identity, the September issue will feature cleaner design layout and remodelled typography, as well as a new, more exciting approach to editorial.
Its debut issue, which takes the theme of ‘Black’ (ironically a colour that never goes out of fashion), sees Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone – photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott in identical Dolce & Gabbana dresses – as cover stars. And you know what? We’re rather besotted with it, because this just happens to be the best Kate Moss cover we’ve seen in a very long time.
But what else can we look forward to? Well, Raf Simons and Georgio Armani guest editing the September issue, and the introduction of ‘Humeur’ – a new monthly column by the renowned blogger (and infinitely cool) Garance Doré – to name just a few. Looks like Alt’s done well indeed. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see the 420-page issue in all its glory.
See all three collectors’ edition covers in our gallery below, and get ready to pick up the all-new edition when it hits newsstands on August 23rd.
