Emily Blunt shows off her feminine side in ELLE’s May issue

If, like us, you’ve been secretly hiding your girl-next-door crush on Emily Blunt ever since her appearance in The Devil Wears Prada, you’ll be pleased to see her all dressed up in this season’s beautifully delicate ensembles in the May issue of Elle.

We’re loving the sheer black silk-chiffon Fendi number she’s wearing on the cover, shot by Thomas Schenk, but the real treats are inside – the voluminous monochrome embroidered dress by Dior Couture and the flesh-coloured sheer silk-tulle dress by Vionnet are our favourites.  What we love about Emily – her unique, refreshing charm and that quintessentially British attitude – all comes through in a lighthearted interview accompanying the 10-page shoot.

As well as her three upcoming films, the face of YSL’s Opium perfume chats casually about being starstruck by Obama, her fear of bugs, her signature comfort food recipes, and her couldn’t-care-less attitude to peoples’ reactions on her risque red carpet choices…

“I like to mix it up, but I don’t care what people say about what I’m wearing on the red carpet, because there’s inevitably going to be someone who hates it, even if you wear something that a lot of people like,” she says. “I don’t care. I know what I like and what I feel good in and I like to take a few risks. They’re not huge strides.”

That’s the spirit, girl!
