(A lota) Love for J.Crew
Posted by StylokoLet’s be honest, we weren’t the only ones rushing to our computers when J.Crew launched CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Joseph Altuzarra’s capsule collection last month, were we? So we know that you know how quickly the sizes sold out. But we’ve cut our losses – our eyes are firmly fixed on everything from runner-up Pamela Love‘s collection for the iconic American brand, which launches today in store and online.
The New York designer, who’s worked on custom-made jewellery for hit vampire series True Blood, has also collaborated with the likes of Marchesa and Zac Posen, although exclusively on accessories. For her first ever clothing collection, Love’s chosen to reinterpret denim, an iconic J.Crew staple, and apparently the only other thing she loves as much as jewellery. Taking inspiration from astrology, magic and her own experiences when travelling, her collection promises to be a fusion of hard-edged cool and relaxed romance.
As if that wasn’t enough, Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters behind Chicago-based Creatures of The Wind (also runners-up of the Fashion Fund) will be debuting their line for J.Crew on June 14. Known for their offbeat aesthetic, the duo’s collection, inspired by 60s psychedelia and rebellious youth culture, presents an entirely different look with a distinctively quirky vibe. We’re so looking forward to their unique take on classic J.Crew silhouettes and fabrics – especially the multi-coloured stripe cashmere cardi.
We can tell they’re both going to be as good as Altuzarra’s collection, if not – dare we say it – better. So what are you waiting for? Log on now!
