The Heritage of Herring Shoes

  Posted Jan 10th, 2012

Renowned for their hand crafted premium British made footwear, Herring is a quintessential English heritage brand.

A family run business, the company was founded in 1966 by Richard Herring. Over the years, the family has set itself apart from the rest, offering individual designs and sourcing high quality leathers.

Having built close relationships with many top British shoe manufacturers, including Loake, Barker and Church’s, the Herring Shoes name is now synonymous with the best quality handmade footwear, and it was these contacts that led to the launch of the Herring family’s own range of footwear.

Richard Herring inspired his son Adrian to take over the family business.  Having worked in the Barker factory, Adrian has been able to bring the construction techniques and craft of English handmade footwear to Herring Shoes.

We love the fact that Herring shoes combine tradition and contemporary style. With their exclusive designs by Adrian Herring, who draws from his rich  experience within the traditional industry, these shoes are made to high specifications using the finest material and greatest attention to finish and detail.
